Tom Wilkinson-Dix: 'Settle,' Oak :
'Settle' draws on the distinctive form of traditional Welsh stick chairs and attempts to reinterpret the role they serve for a modern household. Instead of acting as a pseudo-throne for the 'man of the house'/'head of the table', the broad seat allows two people to sit together, and its gentle curve nudges them to interact as equals. The black-over-red milk paint and wax polish finish is intended to age gracefully as it is worn down by many future occupants.
