Website:
A unique way of knitting, using vintage technology to push the boundaries of surface design, my work is made in my studio in Hackney using very ‘hands on’ old domestic knitting machines to achieve long lasting, often bespoke pieces that make a strong statement.
The yarns for my designs and my ArtKnit work are sourced and dyed for me in Italy, known for its beautiful yarns.
GALLERY OF WORK
- Knitted Loose Top : Made in beautiful Italian viscose yarn, this loose one-off cross-knit top featuring a combination of complimentary surface patterns will fit most sizes and will continue to look good for years.
-
Cream Black knitted Coat :
This mid length warm coat knitted in a fine Kid Mohair and Boucle yarn featuring two of my surface patterns can be worn outside in the Spring and Autumn and inside or under a coat in the chill of winter.
-
Retro Geometric Knitted Sweater :
This is one of my Classics that I have recently updated, originally designed years ago.
It can be worn with either side to the front – the two surface patterns being reversed on each side.
Knitted in Kid Mohair and Boucle yarn, it has a high cowl neck that can be pulled up for extra warmth.
-
Striped Knitted Vest Top :
This knitted vest is another updated classic of mine and is a real statement piece for any season.
It is made in my brilliant Italian yarn.
-
Grey Cream One-Off Knitted Dress :
Featuring a diverse collection of my surface patterns, this svelte dress is a stunning addition to my collection. It is very flattering with it's deep off the shoulder neckline with can be played around with.
Knitted in my Italian viscose yarn, this garment can also be worn with either side to the front and has a totally different range of patterns on the reverse side.
-
Two Art-Knit Calssical Cushions :
Two knitted cushions from my Classical range. These have become collectors items and will make any room that bit more interesting. They are backed with a beautiful Dupion silk and each one I knit is a total 'One-Off'. I hand draw all the images, which makes them more accurate, often having to do several drafts to get them exact.
-
Knitted Black Grey Poncho :
Another statement piece, each poncho I knit in my studio is different, and you can wear them in so many different ways. Each side, back and front, is a variation of the colours of the other and you can turn them around. I make them in either my Viscose yarn or my warmer Kid Mohair Boucle.
-
Charcoal Knitted Flared Top :
This flattering knitted top is so easy to wear. Made in my Italian Viscose yarn, it has a lovely weight and flows elegantly. Machine washable too and because the Knit is shaped on the knitting machine rather than cut, as with all my work, it is very durable.
