Samantha Bryan creates whimsical, illustrative sculptures. Her work centres around fairy characters, combining diverse materials and techniques such as silver soldering, chemical colouring, hand stitching, and clay modelling. Initially inspired by childhood memories and Victorian gadgetry, Samantha now draws on everyday life and the mundane to inject humour and charm into her pieces.

- Brain’s Fairy Stabilisers : Introducing… Brain’s Fairy Stabilisers, designed to provide enhanced support and stability for novice flyers. STORY: Nancy & Nora are novice flyers working hard to perfect their posture and flight technique. They are wearing bright red leather flight suits to ensure they remain visible while refining their skills. Their wooden strap-on stabilising fins help prevent corkscrew spins.

Fairy Test Flight :
STORY: Learning to fly can be daunting for the fairy. Perfecting posture, testing technique and crafting confidence is key to proficient flying. This ‘Flight Support Facility’ enables a novice flyer to practise in safety.

Dust sprinkling in progress - Douglas :
STORY: You may recognise Douglas, he has accompanied me on a few adventures recently. He was planning to stay with me a while, but has recently complained (a lot) of itchy feet and a lack of purpose. He has since equipped himself with a portable dust sack and is looking for a new patch to take care of.

STORY: A collecting and sorting facility for Dust Retrieval Operatives to consolidate their hauls.
This piece was inspired by this vintage red funnel and its signs of wear and tear.
