Jill’s intricately made rod puppet characters all have articulated limbs and head turns, and elaborate hand embroidery.
They are creations of her magination but draw on folklore, myths, social history and most recently the 19th century satirical drawings of J.J Grandville.
A tableau of characters is sometimes incorporated within the interior of a puppet… a story within the storyteller.
